As excitement intensifies over the creation of our third season, you may find yourself wondering, "Who are these new Namaste Yoga instructors, anyway?" It is our honour to introduce them to you! In this installment, we catch up with Aili Storen.
A native of British Columbia, Aili Storen spent a portion of her childhood living in a tent on the beaches of Hawaii. When her early career endeavors in dance and acting began to cripple her health, Aili turned to yoga. Her love for the practice grew while living and learning from her teacher in Australia. It was here she became ready to share the teachings that had healed her spirit and soul.
"This world needs some serious healing," Aili shares. "It needs us to step in to who we really are, with all of our beauty and our hardships, in order to really heal from the inside out."
In 2011, Aili returned to Canada and has taught on a near-daily basis ever since. She continues to find her practice deeply restorative, and intends to give her students the foundation and permission to be their most vibrant selves in every moment. Aili challenges her students to arrive prepared to get seriously playful.
Dedicated to serving others in any capacity, Aili has traveled the world on service projects from Thailand to Kenya. She has worked in past campaigns for lululemon, Yoga Tree and Halfmoon, and has just completed her work with the rest of our New to Namaste instructors, filming #NamasteS3.
Currently, Aili shares the practice she loves so deeply with the yoga community in Vancouver through classes at Semperviva Yoga and YYoga. She plans to lead a yoga retreat February 21-28 in Costa Rica with Jasmina Egeler. You can contact her through her website, on Facebook or Instagram.
