Gabriela Schonbach | Executive Producer
Gabriela Schonbach is a partner and vice president with Omnifilm Entertainment, where she oversees factual development and production as well as co-manages drama, lifestyle and distribution. Gabriela is currently executive producing the 10-hour drama series Arctic Air for CBC, Primeval: New World for SPACE, as well as the 8 x 60 series Pyros for Discovery Canada and Discovery UK and Europe and the fourth season of Ice Pilots NWT for History Television now airing successfully internationally in the US, UK, Europe, and Australia. Gabriela has produced, written and directed many hours of award-winning broadcast programming include Stuntdawgs, a Gemini Award-winning action/factual series, Alice, I Think, a prime-time comedy series for CTV and The Comedy Network and Shimmy, a 26-episode dance series for Discovery Health. Previously, she created and produced the multiple award-winning wellness series Quiet Places and Quiet Mind, and produced the highly successful and innovative 26-episode yoga series Namaste Yoga.
Michael Chechik | Executive Producer
Michael Chechik, president of Omnifilm Entertainment Ltd., Omnifilm Releasing, and Omnifilm Post, has been an independent producer and director of television since 1975. Currently, Michael is executive producing Arctic Air, a flagship drama series for CBC as well as Primeval: New World, the North American spin-off of the UK hit drama series Primeval for SPACE. Previously, Michael was one of the executive producers on Defying Gravity, a 13-part drama produced with Fox Television Studios for ABC, CTV, Space, BBC and ProSieben. Michael's 4 hour miniseries Dragon Boys, a drama for CBC about Asian criminal gangs, was the recipient of two Geminis: for Best Dramatic Mini Series and Best Writing in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series. His popular 65-episode syndicated teen drama, Edgemont, ran for five seasons on CBC and aired on ABC Family Channel and Starz Encore in the U.S., Channel 5 in the U.K., and many networks worldwide. He executive produced the children's television series The Odyssey, broadcast in over 60 countries and recipient of numerous awards including an International Emmy Award nomination and a Gemini Award for Best Youth Program in Canada. Michael’s success also extends to factual series; he produced the long-running Champions of the Wild, a 65-part series starring scientists and the animals they save from extinction.
Tim McCauley | Producer | Creator | Composer
Tim has been working as a film and television composer for over twenty years. He has written the music for several well-known Canadian TV series including DaVinci’s Inquest, North of 60, Tom Stone, and Edgemont. Tim came up with the idea of a yoga show set to music when he began to practice yoga and was struck by the parallels with dance. Music seemed to be a natural extension of the rhythm of breath, a core element of yoga practice. Namaste Yoga was Tim’s first time in the role of producer and he enjoyed venturing out of the studio to beautiful locations in and around Vancouver.
Ian Kerr | Cinematographer
A love of light and its power to influence stories and audiences has driven Ian to seek out projects that benefited from his artistic eye and unique visual approach. Ian's projects have taken him from the Ecuadorian Amazon through the ice flows of Canada's Arctic,to the thin air at 21,000 ft in the Argentinean Andes, and beyond. Some of Ian’s other recent documentary projects include assignments for National Geographic, the NFB, Discovery Channel US, Witness, and The Nature of Things. His commercial spot clients include Subway, Chevrolet, Safeway, 7-11, Bell Mobility, and CTV. Ian has worked as a camera operator on several series and dramatic projects including Dark Angel and X Files.
